Live from hand to mouth

Meaning:
- Basically to survive on a little money
- To have enough money to live on and nothing extra.
- Someone who is very poor or who doesn’t have very much money
Examples:
- Poor people have to live from hand to mouth.
- When John lost his job, he had to live from hand to mouth.
- They live from hand to mouth; they never enjoy going to fancy restaurants or traveling.
Other idioms or sayings:
- Living paycheck to paycheck (Spend all your money that you have and wait until next paycheck; you don’t have any money to save)
- Scrape by (Have only enough of money to buy basic things you need to live)
- Not have a penny to your name/ Not even have 2 pennies to rub together (Very poor)

Lessons learned from doing these interviews:
- Need to verify information before interview.
- Learned more idioms and sayings from interviews even though the information was wrong.
- Don’t use the big word “interview” instead use “May I ask you some questions”.
- Someone gave me some wrong information in the middle of interview. I had to be polite and I had to continue that interview.
