Michael Jordan

Hello, I’m Miryan Lopez and my American figure is Michael Jordan called The six ring men, his royal airness or most known like Air Jordan. I choose him because he looks like my ideal men; dark skin, beautiful face, his tall and muscle body. Moreover I have always loved sports like basketball and volleyball. Meeting Michael Jordan in person would be a dream comes true.
Michael Jordan was born on February 17 of 1963 in Brooklyn New York. His parents James and Deloris Jordan a few years later that Michael was born, decided moved their family from Brooklyn to Wilmington North Carolina because they though that streets of Brooklyn were full on drugs and violence. Mr. and Mrs. Jordan to set an example for their children Larry, James jr., Deloris, Michael and Roslyn showing them enthusiasm to work in their achieve.
Michael was an athlete boy, sometimes lazy and discourage and not very tall. He played three different sports, baseball how pitcher and outfield, named there the top player of the league. Also in tenth grade he was playing for Laney Football team. Finally with a height of 5’10’ he become to train basketball because his school needed a extra player when the plays off were coming up. But he only was setting on the bench or carried with the uniforms like a manager would do when a student manager got sick, then he started to work harder in his basketball skills practicing every day after school with his brother Larry. Jordan’s family was very closed and they play often ball together. Michael adopted picked up father’s habit of curl his tongue to the side of his mouth and Jordan brought it to his sport activities.
Jordan graduated from high school on June of 1981, received full scholarship to the University of North Carolina to studied Geography, where Michael become to make a name to him. He shot from 5’10 to 6’6 He joined the NBA’s in 1984 with Chicago Bulls and quickly emerged as one of the stars of the league.
He married Juanita vanoy in September 1989 and they have two sons Jeffrey Michael and Marcus James and one daughter Jasmine.
In 1988 Jordan was honored with the NBA’s defensive player of the year Award.
Biggest accomplishment by him: He led the Bulls to three consecutive NBA championships in 1991-92-93 when he was considered a Chicago Catalyst.
Michael had two Olympic gold medals winning in 1984 Los Angeles and 1992 Barcelona with Magic Jonson, Larry Bill and Davison Robinson, they are called The Dream Team.
He left the NBA to pursue his career in Baseball in 1993, the same year when his father was murdered by two teenagers Daniel Green and Larry Demery to steal his Lexus father’s car that Michael had brought. Jordan said that it was a cause of loss of desire the game. Then he played with Chicago White sox in 1994 and he founded The Chicago area Boys and girls club in honor to his father in 1996.
He rejoined and led again the Bulls in 1995 to three additional championship in 1996-97-98, his older number 23 had been retired in honor to him and he played with the jersey #45. On January 13 1999 he retired for a second time of the Bulls and The greatest basketball player of all time was named the Greatest North American athlete of 20th century by ESPN. One year later January 2000, Jordan return to NBA as part owner and president for the Washington Wizards, but in September 25 2001 he decided to play again and donated his salary as a player for the victims of September 11. Jordan’s final game was on April 16 2003 in Philadelphia where he received a three minutes standing ovation. Jordan the most decorated player ever to play in the NBA and one of the most marketed sports figures in history by signing annual contracts worth in excess of 30 million dollars set the records in player salary.
His passion now is Motorcycle and he plays golf on celebrity charity tournaments, although brands like Nike, Coca-Cola, Chevrolet, Gatorade, Mc Donald’s and Hanes are part or his publishing contracts yet.
To close my presentation something surprising was to find out that he was getting divorce two times with Juanita, January 4 2002 but they were reconciled shortly after. They filed for divorce again on December 29 2006 when Juanita receives 168 million dollars, making it the largest celebrity divorce in history.
