Hi 555L Students:
I thought that I would post the Contact Assignment #1 information here as well as all of the supermarket phone numbers that I've gathered.

Phone Contact Assignment #1
DUE: January 31

1) For this homework assignment, you will call an assigned grocery store. Think carefully about a good time to call. Calling when the store is likely to be busy is not a good idea. Try to call at a slow time—usually in the late afternoons or at night.

2) You need to ask if the grocery store carries Horizon Organic Milk. If the store does carry Horizon Organic Milk, you need to ask for:

a) which types of milk (whole, 2%, 1%, fat free, etc.),
b) what size containers (1 gallon, 1/2 gallon, etc.), and
c) the price(s).

3) If the store doesn’t carry Horizon Organic Milk, you need to ask if the store carries Laura Scudder’s Old-Fashioned Peanut Butter. If the store does, you need to ask for:

a) which types of peanut butter (Nutty, Smooth, Organic, etc.),
b) what size containers (16 oz., 8 oz., etc.), and
c) the price(s).

4) If the first store you call doesn’t carry either this brand of milk or this brand of peanut butter, you need to call another store!

5) Make sure you thank the person/people who helped you, and ask for his/her/their names.

6) You will turn in a short summary of the information in a paragraph. I will also want you to staple any notes that you took while on the phone to your summary.
